Single Mother Initiative
When a young mother is turned away by stigma, care and dignity shouldn’t be out of reach.
So every young mother can:
📈 The need: ~1 in 4 girls aged 15–19 have begun childbearing (UBOS, 2022)
A triple burden — met with one caring team
Teen and young single mothers carry three weights at once: limited access to reproductive healthcare, social stigma, and economic exclusion.
This initiative would bring integrated, confidential care to community gathering points, schools, churches and shelters — antenatal and postnatal care, reproductive-health education, family planning, infection screening, mental-health support and legal and social referral — in step with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Gender.

- ✓Antenatal and postnatal care.
- ✓Sexual and reproductive health education and family planning.
- ✓Screening and treatment for common infections.
- ✓Mental-health support.
- ✓Legal and social referral services.
Why young mothers need this
~25% teen pregnancy
of girls aged 15–19 have begun childbearing (UBOS 2022).
Stigma & isolation
many are rejected by families, schools and partners.
Hidden mental illness
depression, PTSD and suicidal ideation go unseen and untreated.
