Our clinic visits for a day. Peers and child mentors stay all year, carrying the health work forward between visits.
Pupil peers
Trained pupil champions who run hygiene, menstrual and mental health awareness among classmates.
Teacher mentors
Hold the health file, follow up referred children and flag concerns between camps.
Parent mentors
Take health messages home and mobilise the wider community for camp days.
We're also building a network of specialist partners — reproductive health, mental health, WASH and nutrition — to deepen what a single visit delivers.
Our secondary beneficiaries — and the reason this lasts
A school health programme that treats only pupils treats half the school. Head teachers, teachers and parents benefit from our work, and help deliver it.
Teacher mental health
Low-cost dialogues and mental health screening for teachers — a well teacher means a better classroom.
Parent mental health
The same dialogues and screening extended to parents, so home supports the gains made at school.
A community arm
School leaders, teachers and parents keep the programme running — and the school healthy — after we drive away.
Medical or non-medical — there is a place for you
Every outreach needs clinicians, but it also needs registration clerks, translators, crowd marshals, photographers and drivers. If you can give a Saturday, we can use you well.
- ✓Clinical volunteers: doctors, nurses, dentists, optometrists, counsellors.
- ✓Support volunteers: records, logistics, communications, community mobilisation.
- ✓Students: supervised placements at camps during the school calendar.
- ✓Peers and mentors: pupils, teachers and parents who carry the work between visits.
We actively recruit women clinicians and counsellors. Adolescent girls disclose more, and disclose sooner, to female health workers — and safeguarding standards expect it. Growing the number of women on every rotation is a stated recruitment priority, not an afterthought.
